Pantoprazole Pellets
Pantoprazole is a member of the drug class Proton pump inhibitor, which decreases the production of acid in your stomach. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, Zollinger Ellison syndrome (excessive acid production due to tumor of the pancreas), duodenal ulcers, gastric ulcers, and Ulcers associated with Crohn’s Disease.
Pantoprazole suppresses stomach acid by inhibiting the activity of an enzyme (H+/K+ ATPase or gastric proton pump). It is present within the stomach lining cells and works to release gastric acid secretion, injuring the stomach and food pipe lining tissues and duodenum. Pantoprazole prevents the release of stomach acid and provides relief against food pipe lining inflammation (esophagitis), gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or heartburn.
Pantoprazole is indicated in the therapy of heartburn, acidity, gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and peptic ulcer illness. It exerts its effects by decreasing stomach acid content consequently alleviating indigestion as well as acid-related heartburn.
