Diacerein Capsules IP: Diacerein is a group of medications known as anthraquinones, prescribed for pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints resulting from osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease wherein the two ends of the joints meet each other as a result of the deterioration of a protective cartilage covering. As there is no protection, the joints chafe on one another, causing pain and stiffness.

Diacerein has Diacerein as its active ingredient, which acts by preventing a protein that causes inflammation and degeneration of cartilage from working. Thus, it prevents the erosion and degradation of the cartilage (the soft, fibrous tissue that lines and covers the ends of long bones at the joints) and alleviates pain and swelling in joints.
